At Carolina Behavioral Innovations (CBI), our mission is to empower individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities to thrive. We see the unique potential in every child and are dedicated to providing inspiring, goal-driven support that is centered entirely on their needs and your family’s goals.

We believe that the most profound learning happens when a child is engaged, joyful, and comfortable. That’s why our therapy looks a lot like play. We move beyond the desk and into the real world, using a naturalistic approach to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Whether in one of our clinics, at home, in school, or out in the community, our team focuses on building skills in the environments where your child lives and plays. This method ensures that therapy is not only effective but also a positive and motivating experience.  

Our core values of integrity, honesty, and trauma-informed care guide every interaction. We create individualized therapy plans because we know there is no one-size-fits-all solution. By targeting functional goals, we help your child build the practical, daily life skills needed to foster greater independence.

What truly sets CBI apart is our commitment to flexibility and partnership. As a locally and BCBA-owned practice, our roots are firmly planted in the South Carolina community. Our founder, Mary, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who built her career on a passion for serving children with special needs. After earning her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders and leading clinical programs in Virginia, she returned to her hometown of Spartanburg. Witnessing the long waiting lists and the need for more local services, she established CBI in 2017 to provide families with a better option.  

This commitment is reflected in how we operate. We don’t believe in rigid requirements. CBI offers flexible scheduling and has no minimum hourly requirements for therapy, allowing us to create a plan that fits your family’s life.
