Mary Wood

Throughout her high school years, Mary developed a strong passion for working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism and their families. This passion led her to the Early Autism Project while she pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Clemson University, where she was actively involved in research studies focused on children with ASD and other disabilities.
After graduating from Clemson, Mary moved to Virginia to further her career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She served as the Clinical and Program Director for in-home and community-based programs at both Molina Healthcare and Providence Human Services. Additionally, she played a key role in launching Virginia Autism and Behavior Consulting’s first Pediatric Center, dedicated to children with ASD and other disabilities.
While in Virginia, Mary earned her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Subsequently, she and her family returned to their hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina, to be closer to family. There, she continued her commitment to serving families in the autism community and recognized the significant need for increased autism services and the long waiting lists in the state.
Driven by this observation, Mary established Carolina Behavioral Innovations, LLC (CBI) in 2017. Her vision was to provide comprehensive and collaborative services to families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. She and her team prioritize and implement evidence-based natural environment teaching principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to ensure services are personalized to meet each client’s unique needs. CBI is dedicated to targeting functional goals that promote independence in everyday life skills.
In recent years, as a parent of a child with Autism, her professional and personal experiences have further deepened her understanding of the impact of raising a child with Autism and learning differences. She is committed to providing comprehensive care that also takes into account the diverse needs of a family unit.

Megan Ballard

Megan's love for the field of ABA started during her undergraduate years at Jacksonville State University where she discovered the field working in a clinic on campus. She graduated with a degree in psychology with a minor in child development in 2011. She started working with clients as a behavior therapist in 2010 and gained experience in clinics, homes, schools, and community services working with ages 2 to 55. She graduated from Kaplan in 2014 with her master in psychology. In 2016, she passed the BCBA exam and has spent the last 7 years working as a BCBA and a director supervising a clinic, creating a school program, guiding families, and working with student analysts. She has seen what a significant piece ABA plays in helping clients and families. Her implementation style is very natural, and she is always looking at what the client needs to make long term and meaningful change. Her family moved to the area to start a new journey and can't wait to meet and grow with you all!

Annamaria Tormey

Annamaria's passion for working with the special needs community started as early as age 8, as she volunteered as a weekly "buddy" for the TOPSoccer program in her hometown of Greenville, SC. Although, it wasn't until her junior year of college, while earning her Bachelor's degree in psychology from Clemson, that she truly found her passion for serving others as she worked as an RBT at CBI. After earning her undergraduate degree in 2020,
Annamaria decided to continue her career path to follow her passion for the field of Special Education and obtained her Master's degree in Special Education from Clemson University while completing her coursework to become a BCBA. Annamaria enjoys pushing her clients to do their very best while ensuring they have a smile on their face. In her free time, you can find Annamaria at any Clemson sporting event, enjoying time on the lake, or hanging out with friends and family.

Kelly Schuster

Kelly has always had a love for working with children and watching them grow and gain new skills. It wasn't until her junior year at Clemson University that she really fell in love with the child development classes. Autism was always an area that interested Kelly as well, so, she decided to make the best of both worlds and begin working in the field of ABA with
CBI immediately after graduating from Clemson University. After working as an RBT and falling in love with the ABA field, she knew she wanted to continue her career and begin her BCBA coursework. Kelly graduated with her Master's degree from Ball State University in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorder and is now a BCBA. Kelly enjoys interacting with her clients while also teaching new skills. In her free
time, you can find Kelly at a Clemson football game, walking/jogging with her two dogs, or spending time with her friends and family.
